THIS weekend was a very exciting weekend for Singapore and yours truly.
In a very proud moment for this tiny South-east Asian island at the tip of peninsular Malaysia, a silver medal was won by its table tennis woman’s team (or China’s Team 2 as my darling boyfriend and Singapore’s table tennis team hater would call it) .
This silver medal comes on the back of a 48-year Olympic medal drought and persistent bugging of its previous solitary Olympic medal winner, Mr Tang HL (also from China, and a Teochew, as I found out from the very reliable rival company’s TV news later on).
Meanwhile, on the east of the island a day before the silver medal was won, history was also made when this humble blogger ran 6km, in the process possibly wearing her ankles out.
This is a never-before achieved achievement ( the distance ran, not the ankle erosion).
Conclusions:
1) Don’t we orignate from China in some way or other? So put a sock in it, you Singapore’s table tennis team haters (yes, dear, that’s you too.)
2) Maybe that 10km marathon is not an unreachable feat.
I now leave you with a couple of misbehaving Olympic mascots.
THE END.
